I’ve been designing websites for years, both professionally and personally. Being particularly creatively minded I’ve always loved making my own mark on the internet. Whether it’s a personal project, a professional portolio, or even a small business, there’s something incredibly satisfying about having a piece of you on the web. There’s nothing like having a page that truly represents you.
But that same creativity and drive to make something that looks exactly the way I want it, to represent what I want from it, has caused me problems too. There are countless services out there advertising themselves as website builders, offering you themes and pre-built templates to make building your website easy. I’ve tried them time and time again, but I always find myself running into the same problem: those themes and templates aren’t what I want. They don’t feel like they represent me or my brand.
I’ve been lucky in that I can design and code a website quickly and easily to get around the limitations of these website builder services. But if I wasn’t? Well then I’d be pretty much stuck, unable to properly represent myself or the things I make. That’s why I founded ScreenTailor: so that people who don’t necessarily have the time or skills to code a website from scratch can still see themselves represented on the internet.
